Skills development and employment in the Eastern Partnership region

The overall objectives of this joint seminar are: a) to provide a platform for discussion and mutual exchange on EU policy dialogue and assistance in the areas of skills development and employment in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) region, and b) to improve coordination and make the best use of the resources of different EU institutions, for the benefit of ETF partner countries.
The specific objective is to inform and exchange on:
- EU bilateral and regional policy dialogue and mechanisms
- Key factors of a successful skills development system and progress of reforms in the region
- Aid modalities: what is working and why
- Co-operation between ETF and EC / EU Delegations, looking into next steps on how to better link ETF expertise to the EU external assistance project cycle in the region
The key audience are representatives from EU Delegations to EaP countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine) dealing with VET, skills development and employment, DG NEAR management and thematic / country desks, DG EMPL, DG EAC, and other relevant DGs from the European Commission.
The two-days will focus on the main theme of progress and challenges of skills development and employment in the EaP countries and are designed around three pillars: EU policy dialogue, regional initiatives and country focus.
