Recognition of your higher education diploma

If you hold a Ukrainian higher education qualification, you can present it to the National Academic Recognition Centre of the country in which you wish to study or work to obtain formal recognition – which will be confirmed by documents issued by the Recognition Centre.

Contact details for national centres in the EU can be found here: https://www.enic-naric.net/country-pages.aspx

Ukraine is a member of the Lisbon Recognition Convention, which governs recognition of higher education qualifications in more than 50 countries across Europe.  So, Ukrainian qualifications should therefore be recognised by other European countries, including EU Member States, unless there is a substantial difference between the qualification presented and its equivalent in the country where you are now living. Receiving countries should be flexible in interpreting qualifications when documents are missing.

The European Commission has developed Guidelines on fast-track recognition of Ukrainian academic qualifications to support Member States in the recognition of academic qualifications, including the recognition of credits where students left Ukraine with unfinished studies.

Higher education and research

In higher education in the EU, each university defines its own procedures for transferring students from a foreign university. Final decisions are taken by the university authorities. We know that some countries are now streamlining admission procedures for the admission of students from Ukraine. Information from some countries is available on their respective websites below. We will add to this list as information becomes available. Financial support may also be available.
