ETF webinar ‘Should we change our approach to summative assessment?’

Third webinar in the series ‘New ideas for assessment’ of the ETF Task Force on Assessment to support VET teachers and trainers in the approaches on assessment during pandemic of COVID-19 which focuses on summative assessment.

The first webinar of the series held on 13.05.2020 reviewed the various approaches countries are undertaking for the final exams at the pandemic crisis New ideas for final exams’ and the second webinar on 29.09.2020 focused on formative assessment 'New ideas for assessment: Assessment for learning'

Participants in this webinar event learnt about what happened with summative assessment in different countries due to the pandemic and deepened their knowledge and understanding of two trends in summative assessment: authentic assessment and standardised assessment. The conceptual foundations of both authentic and standardised assessment were illustrated by examples from Finland and Kazakhstan.
