Empowering a just transition: Coves driving Green Skills, Employment and Regional Growth - Joint webinar of ENE GRETA and Priority Area 9 ‘People and Skills’ of the Danube Region Strategy

ETF global Network for Excellence – ENE - supports vocational excellence development together with more than 280 centres of vocational excellence (CoVEs) from more than 40 countries.

ENEs green initiative, GRETA - Greening Responses to Excellence through Thematic Actions, supports CoVEs in their efforts to contribute to the greening of VET as response to the green and digital transition.

ENE GRETA is conducting a green online webinar, in collaboration with Priority Area 9 ‘People and Skills’ of the Danube Region Strategy which will be held on 18th October from 12.00 to 14.45 CEST in zoom.

The focus of the event is to place spotlight on the critical role of vocational excellence in achieving a just transition and in which CoVEs play a vital role in steering towards a green future.

We will have presentations from the European Commission and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on the EU policies and funding mechanisms for just transition.

We will look into the skills dimension of an ambitious CO2 reduction vision initiative implemented through a green regional partnership in North Jutland, Denmark. And we will have experience sharing from Moldova on public private partnerships in the construction sector and presentation from Ukraine.

Also, we take deep dive into green skills programs from Ireland and the UN Environment Programmes.

The main key takeaways are:

  • Insights in Just Transition policies and updates on European Union and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development measures
  • Just transition example based on innovative regional partnerships for CO2 reduction
  • Practice examples of green skills programmes in the construction sector and for energy efficiency from Ireland, Ukraine and the UN Environment Programme
  • Insights into priorities of greening of VET in the Danube Region based on interim results of the online survey of the Danube Region Platform on Centres of Vocational Excellence

The webinar will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation in French, Ukrainian and Turkish.
