Greening of existing professions in the maritime sector.

 

Context

The SHIPMENTT project aims at establishing an innovation ecosystem focused on the green sea mobility sector (reffered partially as green shipping in EUSAIR) across the ADRION area. In the medium-term, the aim is to enhance the investments in regional R&D and increase the competitiveness of the local SMEs.

The project fit creates an important milestone in promoting Green Shipping in the maritime sector. It features partners from all 8 countries of the ADRION area.

Context

Echo-tech park "Volma" is innovative centre of excellence in energy efficiency, resource conservation and energy efficient construction. The centre trains children, students, adults, specialists in innovative technologies at different levels of complexity.

The networking learning principle allows for the development of green skills for a large number of Vocational Education trainees and their teachers.

More than 500 people are trained at "Volma" every year. The knowledge is transformed into the curriculum for colleges and universities, and then into professional activities.

Context

Label Emmaüs is the first French e-commerce website whose catalog is exclusively supplied by actors of the social economy, with around 1,000,000 preowned goods. Label École, the inclusive e-commerce school created by Label Emmaüs, offers training in e-commerce professions specifically designed to meet the needs of companies in the sector. The students, who are people with low educational qualifications, create an e-commerce site and a digital strategy for 3 real-world and impact-driven projects.

European Platform for Urban Greening is build by the partners in Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Romania, Spain and the Netherlands. 

The public-private partnership aims to increase the knowledge and skills required to address biodiversity, climate adaptation and well-being in the urban environment, and to broaden the expertise among professionals in Europe by setting up 6 Centres of Vocational Excellence with innovative curricula and learning methods, and a training and experience centre on vertical green landscaping.

Context

Schools provide an environment to the learners for systematic acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitude required to meet the varied aspirational needs. Green skills have been incorporated in 152 job roles covering 17 job sectors of India’s economy.

For grades 9 to 12, the school introduced introducing green skills as an integral component of employability skills at an early age is helping our youth to prepare themselves for green occupations in the near future. This initiative covers 27 States with 10,893 schools, benefiting 1.2 million students in preparing with the skill-set required for green occupations in the future.

Greening of the textile and fashion industry through new curricula.

 

Context

Atelier Riforma is an innovative startup with a social vocation born in Turin in 2020.
The goal of the project is to reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry through circular economy and tailoring creativity. 

Atelier Riforma makes sure that future professionals, namely current students of fashion schools, learn how to upcycle clothes. For this purpose, we deliver to fashion schools some of the used clothes that we collect, so that students can practice and train with different upcycling techniques. We currently collaborate with two fashion schools in which a special “green fashion” course has been created.

Why is it important?

Vocational education centre offering green energy curricula for refugees in Gaza.

 

Context

Ghada Krayem, a Palestine refugee, receiving vocational training on installation, operating, maintenance and programming of Solar Photovoltaic Systems at UNRWA TVET centre in Gaza.

The emerging renewable energy field was both a demanding and promising option, and Ghada was especially intrigued by solar photovoltaic systems. In the Gaza Strip, expanding renewable energy sources is critical. Solar photovoltaic systems can leverage sunlight and turn it into electricity.

Context

We strive to raise awareness of sustainability to our students. During the pandemic period, we organize online activities with students on the theme of synchronous and asynchronous environment. In this context, our students calculate their carbon footprint with their own software. We are implementing the TEMA foundation's high school program. Students work on the environmental theme in the software they design.

Thanks to these studies, students both learn coding and gain environmental awareness. The carbon footprint calculations with the software they prepared helped to raise their environmental awareness.

Greening of existing professions in the building management sector.

 

Context

EMAU centre is the author of the curriculum for residential building managers that was developed with the aim of retraining specialists in this field.
It conducts training in partnership with 18 universities. The curriculum content includes a module on the implementation of international environmental management standards and energy-saving technologies.

EMAU experts are working to develop a range of professional standards for the property management professions. The drafts of these standards take into account the competence requirements for the green economy.

UKRAINE - PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROJECT

Why is it important?

Skilling students on energy efficiency at all stages of education.

 

Context

The component “Professional Qualifications in Energy Efficiency” of the project “Energy Efficiency Reforms in Ukraine” implemented by GIZ in Ukraine aimed at formation of green competences, awareness raising in energy efficiency for different groups of young people, with focus on VET students. 

Three Energy-Innovative Hubs (EIH) were created in the Ukrainian technical universities, supplied with the equipment for practical training in energy efficiency and incorporated into the University structures. These Hubs serve as the places where school students, vocational school, and university students learn about energy efficiency, acquaint themselves with and test modern equipment and materials.
