Migrant women as learners: Individual pathways and prospects in Morocco

The present report delves into an analysis of the skills and migration profile of migrant women, particularly seasonal migrants and potential migrants in Morocco. The purpose of this report is to examine the significance of migrant women's skills and migration patterns, while also evaluating the existing policy frameworks and initiatives that intersect with migrant women. The structure of the report encompasses several key segments. In the introductory section, it provides an overview of the migration context, skills and profiles of migrant women, especially seasonal migrants and potential migrants. Subsequently, a literature review highlights relevant findings regarding skills and Moroccan women’s migration trajectories. The report then presents findings from 21 interviews, covering topics such as skills acquisition, impact on migration decisions, challenges in skill utilisation, need for accompaniment, etc. 

The final section of the report offers recommendations and policy implications derived from the interview insights, suggesting strategies for skills acquisition, overcoming barriers faced by the different migrant women categories and enhancing human capital development.
