Dissemination webinar — Study on the digital competence of teachers in Ukraine

The European Training Foundation (ETF), in partnership with the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport, and Culture (DG EAC) of the European Commission, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, launched in 2025 a study on the digital competence of secondary teachers in Ukraine, aiming to provide valuable insights of teachers’ perceptions of their own digital competences, identify common strengths and development needs, and generate recommendations to support systemic improvement and a regular use of the tool by local and national stakeholders and policymakers.

More than 400 schools and 8,000 teachers in Ukraine have been engaged in a self-reflection process using the European Commission’s SELFIE for TEACHERS tool.

During the webinar the preliminary findings of the national results and draft policy messages were presented. The objectives of the webinar are to:

• Share and discuss the key findings emerging from the self-assessment of over 8,000 teachers;
• Shape relevant policy messages for national and local policymakers
• Reflect on conditions for a regular and coordinated use of the tool in the country
