Skills and sustainable development goals in Arab countries

The Middle East and North Africa Public Administration Research (MENAPAR) network is organising a conference in Ifrane, Morocco, from 28-31 of October, to discuss how Arab countries are delivering on the SGDs and what is the role of skills development and government support in this process, among other aspects. More specifically, the event will focus on “Public Administration Research and South-South Cooperation for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in the Arab Region".

Other conference sub-themes will be “Knowledge gaps in the practice and research of Public Administration, SSC and SDGs in the Arab Region”, “Facilitators and Inhibitors of SGDs in the Arab region” and “Evaluation of Arab cooperation on Public Administration programs and projects”.

The ETF will play a key role in the conference, both through the presentation of its flagship project 'Torino Process', a tool to monitor progress in human capital development, and the announcement of the results of the first survey on the role of civil society role in skills development in the region.
