Summary notes

Within the framework of the preparation of the ETF publication "Investment in Education, Employment and Economic Performance in Syria" a more academic paper was prepared covering specifically returns to education and transition from school to work in Syria.

Publications of this series gather documents of a general nature describing the overall vocational education and training systems and their link with labour markets in the different countries of the Mediterranean region. The publication aims to be informative and analytic and form the starting point of policy developments based on a holistic approach to the VET/Labour Market environment.

An article written by Jean-Raymond Masson for the European Journal of Vocational Training, N. 33, published by Cedefop. The article introduces a special issue of the Journal, focussing on the future of vocational education and training in the context of the EU enlargement.
