The key objective of this thematic paper is to present guidelines that provide practical and detailed instructions for the design and implementation of (impact) evaluations of ALMPs. Taking into account the research
cycle, it provides guidance on the different phases, such as (a) planning phase, including resources required (financial, human, research infrastructure), expected timeline, most common types of research design,
and examples of data collection tools; (b) implementation phase; and (c) analytical and communication phase.
