DARYA Capacity Development Workshop Series

Building on dialogue and collaboration with partners from five Central Asian countries from the EU-funded DARYA project, this event will discuss and examine professional standards for the effective functioning of national qualification systems (NQS). Professional standards are used as inputs for the development of curricula for formal and non-formal learning, and for assessment and validation of professional competence of people. This seminar aims to foster knowledge sharing and promote the exchange of experiences and good practices for the improved development and implementation of professional standards. 

The seminar will consider European and Kyrgyz examples of the development and use of professional standards, as well as analyse Kyrgyz practices, gaps and needs. The seminar will combine general provisions of objectives, principles, links to national quality standards and national quality frameworks, as well as demonstrate real examples from different countries. 

Highlights of the session are expected to include: 

• Improved understanding of the objectives and principles of the development and examples of the use of professional qualification standards, as well as their relationship to National Qualification Systems (NQS) and National Qualification Frameworks (NQFs) ;
• Recommendations for improving the methodology of development and approaches to the application of professional qualification standards in Kyrgyzstan. 

This seminar is intended for developers of professional standards, users of professional standards and coordinating institutions. The event will take place in presence in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
