Skills for fair, efficient labour migration

This report explores how better framing labour migration in a mutually beneficial way for countries of origin, countries of destination and migrants themselves through strategic alignment of skills development, qualifications’ recognition, and migration governance – offers a sustainable solution to global skills deficits and mismatches. Authors combined their analyses with practical recommendations for new/adjusted policies and instruments that policymakers and practitioners may use to improve the developmental benefits of labour migration. ETF hopes that this study will help to improve migrants’ lives through more informed, balanced, and humane policies, and understanding of migration as a shared prosperity.
