Using labour market information – anticipating skills and jobs, 15 February 2023

The objective of the introductory online meeting was to provide an overview of current developments in the monitoring of education and labour market performance as well as main instruments used to anticipate skills and jobs both in the countries of the European Union and Central Asia. In addition, it looked at key indicators that are relevant for monitoring education, skills and employment as well as recent developments in the area of data and monitoring in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The online meeting was joined by more than 60 participants from five Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan representing various public and private organisations active in the area of collection and usage of labour market information. The meeting allowed the participants to build knowledge and exchange on how gathering intelligence on current and future skills needs can support better matching of training and jobs, which is of paramount importance for every country in the world, especially in the context of dynamic and complex labour markets.

DARYA launch conference

The DARYA launch conference on 2223 November 2022 in Astana, Kazakhstan, brought together key stakeholders from the five Central Asian countries, EU Member States’ practitioners, and representatives from the EU institutions, including ETF experts. At the launch event, the participants shared their country priorities in DARYA in relation to their main human capital development reforms. They also confirmed areas of interest for regional/multi-country cooperation, and kicked off networking and peer learning among Central Asian countries and EU Member States.
