High youth unemployment is a waste of potential and poses social and economic risks, says the European Parliament's rapporteur on skills policies for fighting youth unemployment, Marek Plura.

"And emphasizing skills development will increase job opportunities for young people."

He makes the comments in the April Parliament Magazine, which shines a spotlight on the important role of labour mobility, skills, education and EU programmes to tackle youth unemployment.
