Promoting Social Inclusion - full support of European Parliament President

‘The European Parliament attaches great importance to the fight against poverty’, said Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, at the ETF conference Promoting Social Inclusion. ‘The promise of a better life for all without exception is at the heart of the European project.’ Mr Buzek’s video address was delivered at the closing of the event in Brussels.

The ETF conference, whose full title is “Promoting social inclusion and combating poverty through cooperation in education, training and work in EU neighbouring countries”, builds on the experience of the ETF and its partner countries surrounding the EU in these policy areas to review progress and identify future opportunities for cooperation.

In his address, Mr Buzek assured the European Parliament’s support in taking forward the ideas for promoting social inclusion and fighting poverty identified at the ETF event.
‘I’m very happy that at this conference EU neighbouring countries, with the support of the European Training Foundation, have the chance to exchange the ideas with each other, with EU Member States, and internationally’, said Mr. Buzek.
