The ETF is organising a Seminar on
Migration and Skills that will take place in Turin on 6-7 March 2012. The
seminar will gather together representative of six ETF Partner Countries
involved in the migration dialogue with the EU, participants from Member States
who implement projects in the above-mentioned countries, and representatives of
EU institutions and international organisations.
The objective of this two-day seminar is to share knowledge on measures that
relate to the skills dimension of legal circular migration and create
win-win-win situations for sending countries, receiving countries and migrants
themselves. Special emphasis will be given to measures that address the
pre-departure of emigrants and re-integration of returnees. Case studies will
be presented on the entrepreneurship support to returnees, circular/ seasonal
migration schemes, labour market reintegration of returnees and job information
systems for potential migrants.
In addition to the case studies, part of the seminar will be dedicated to the
presentation of the first preliminary results of the ETF surveys in Armenia and
Georgia, with a special focus on returnees.
