The ETF TEaching and Learning Community of Practice is part of the ETF project on Teaching and Learning in South Eastern Europe.

Why a learning and teaching community of practice

Globally this is a rich period in discussions about innovations of teaching and learning. A critical area for education policy improvement is teacher and trainer quality. Teachers and trainers as professionals in South Eastern Europe are committed to carrying out innovative work. there is a clear need to eschange and disseminate strategies, throgh peer learning or communities of practice, beyond the school level and also between national vocational education and training systems.

The Teaching and Learning Community of Practice has the long term objective to build capacity for knowledge sharing, regional networking and exchange od experience on different policy options chosen in South Eastern Europe countries. it also seeks to contribute to the international debate on communities of practice by exploring how social learning can be applied inside and among organisations in a specific domain. The Teaching and Learning Community of Practice focuses on strengthening the professional expertise of vocational education and training centres (or functional equivalent) in South Eastern Europe. It seeks to strengthen their capacity for vocational education and training and human resource development policy formulation and implementation at the national level.
